Hanging Out with GG-Mary and Pa Pa Jim

We were incredibly lucky whilst in the US to be able to spend Easter weekend with GG-Mary (Great-Grandma Mary) and Pa Pa Jim (Great-Grandpa Jim). We drove up to their place on Friday afternoon - gotta love that I-405 traffic heading North. They are now at their new home in Thousand Oaks and their backyard is literally the mountain. There's a momma and baby bunny who live in their yard, so we're hoping they are still hopping around when Sydney gets to visit.

We spent 48 hours relaxing around the house, talking, and cooing at John. On Saturday night during dinner Pa Pa Jim announced that John wasn't allowed to leave until he'd rolled over (he was just starting to push really hard with his legs). About five minutes later he rolled over for the first time! It was then announced that he just couldn't leave.

Here's GG-Mary sitting with John in the back of the golf cart (no, he didn't sit back there for the ride). She had him smiling most of the weekend and I'm not sure who had the bigger grin on their face - her or John.

Easter brunch down at the Club House was wonderful - I was sooooooo excited to get a GREAT buffet-style brunch. Made-to-order omlets, lamb cut right there for you, amazing desserts. Of course the highlight of the brunch was John. We were on high alert for anyone my grandparents knew so we could show him off. He happily sat on our laps throughout the meal and smiled at anyone and everyone who talked to him.

One of the great things about moving to LA is that we'll be so close to GG & Pa Pa Barnett. Considering they are our only family and closest friends we have there, I'm hoping to go visit them once a week. We are looking forward to spending time with them at the beach house as well, especially over Fourth of July weekend when the fireworks display will hopefully be on.
