Wedding Day!

Here's our little Princess Flowergirl and her Daddy. We had Mary's wedding on Saturday and it was a great day. She looked beautiful and so did Sydney (as you can see). Sydney loved her dress, made by Grandma Carolyn, especially how she could hold up the sides and twirl around.

We actually thought she might do her "job" and walk down the aisle with her basket of flower petals and gently toss them onto the white walkway, but of course she didn't. Instead, she slowly meandered about 1/3 the way down the aisle, and then broke out into a dead run towards the front of the church and hurled herself at me. I thought she might go for Uncle Brendan like she did during the rehearsal, but no, she wanted Mommy. It was very cute and gave everyone a little laugh.

Here are the glamorous Scherer sisters all dressed up -make that two Scherers, one Tasker and a Virnig. Yes, that's Mary's new last name. Poor girl (just kidding). Oh yeah, that should read a mom, and three sisters (love you Mom). We must have had two thousand photos taken that day - I can't wait to see the files. Of course we only took these three on the blog (and didn't get one of John) on my camera. We did, however, have a photo montage of Sydney's water bottle, the nigh-nigh (pacifier) and people at our table eating, as she stole my camera and took about 50 photos. I'll feature more of those on a different article about "Our Budding Artist - or Not".

The kids were really quite wonderful - except for the water incident in the limo, sorry Aunty Lori! At least it was water! And at least it was Aunty Lori and not one of the other bridesmaids! John flirted with all the women and slept in the arms of dozens of my mother's friends. There were many of times I turned to see how he was doing and he was no longer in the arms of the person I gave him to. We're so blessed to have such adaptable kids. Sydney and Steven, Brendan's nephew (Brendan is my new bro) were a hoot on the dance floor - your classic children dancing and mawling each other photo opportunities (which of course I didn't get). They were very cute.

We left the party at about 9:15 as the Sydney was getting rather uncoordinated and falling over and hurting herself, poor thing. John was just looking at me with these bloodshot eyes as if to say "Mom, take me home and put me to bed". So we did. Then they were so overtired that they got into fits of giggles, much better than fits of upset, and were rolling around together on the bed when we got home. It was actually a great ending to a fun day.
