John's New Smile

This picture doesn't really do it justice, as the eye squint isn't really happening, but John has this new smile that uses every muscle in his face. I'm trying to catch it on camera, but with the digital delay I haven't had much luck yet. But basically his lips go curly but flat (like in this photo) then his eyes go squinty and form a line across his face. It's so cute. I've never seen a child smile and laugh as much as he does.
I had him in stitches tonight just saying "Da da da" to him. He'd crack up. Then I'd say "Ma Ma Ma" and he'd just look at me. But something about "Da Da Da" he loved. He's sitting up so much better now as well. He doesn't need to hold himself up on his hands and lean forward - he can sit straight-backed without balancing on his hands. He still tips over if you aren't behind him or have pillows around, but he can now sit and play with toys in front of him for awhile, and he's so proud of himself for doing it.
