In September we welcomed the newest member to our extended family - Oliver. We were all so excited when we got back to Australia to know that a new cousin for the kids was going to be arriving soon. No one knew if Aunty Amy was going to have a boy or girl, so of course Sydney was hoping for a girl, and John was hoping for a boy.

We got the call at almost bedtime one day that Oliver had arrived safe and sound. I will admit I was a bit shocked with Uncle Paul said they were happy for us to come and visit them in the hospital straight away. Yeah! So we threw some shoes on the kids, who were in their jammies, and thru them in the car so we could get to the hospital before visiting hours were over.

I'm not sure who's happier in the above photo - the new father or the new cousins. Sydney was upset on the ride to the hospital that her new cousin was a boy, but as soon as she laid eyes on Oliver she was totally smitten and didn't care he was a boy. John was very timid when he first saw Oliver - I realized he'd never seen a baby that small. He would touch the swaddling cloths, but didn't want to hold him. At the very end he asked me to help him hold "the baby cousin" so he sat on the chair and I held Oliver on his lap.

Rich is just so comfortable with newborns - sure he doesn't want another of his own?

This photo of Sydney, I realize now, is taken a few days after Amy & Oliver left the hospital. She just loves him to bits.

Pa Tasker just loves the little babies.
