The Nutcracker Suite

We spent Christmas in snowy Wisconsin with my whole family. Mom treated all the girls to a fancy afternoon at the Nutcracker Suite Ballet. We told Sydney at Thanksgiving that we were going to go to the ballet and she talked about it every day - how she was going to see Clara dancing on the stage, the mice (one day they were scary, one day they weren't), and the wonderful music.

It was very cold day, but there was a light snow falling when we came out of the theatre. Sydney was so excited to be out with the girls - the smile never left her face. She sat on Grammie's lap for the first half and my lap for the second half. She was mesmorized by what was going on on stage and asked a lot of questions trying to figure out the story. She had to make sure she had an eye on Clara at all times.

I just love this above photo - it captures the carefree feeling of the day.

At the end of performance a bunch of the cast went into the lobby to pose for pictures. Unfortunately Clara ran out of the group about two minutes before we got up there. Sydney wasn't afraid to go with the cast at all, even though the Rat King was there (he was scary that day). When Sydney walked up to them, she was so teeny tiny next to all of them that the Prince picked her up so we could actually see her! They all thought she was so beautiful.

Posing in front of the huge Christmas Tree in the foyer. If you look closely, you can tell Mary's hiding her preggo-at-the-time belly.
