Our Baby Turns 2

On December 10th we celebrated John's 2nd Birthday. He was so excited that HE got the song sung to him, and HE got to open all the presents and HE got the cake. In fact, all he talked about for the week or two before his big day was the fact that he gets to eat cake.

We had him open most of his presents as soon as we got up in the morning. He was given a new car puzzle by his big sister, the complete Fire Station Duplo set from Grandma and Pa, Puma kicks from Aunty Lori and lots of other fun toys, books and clothes from the rest of the family.

Daddy and I kept it simple, you know how we are. We got him just a small gift of - his first Harley!!! It goes forwards and backwards with the touch of a button - a slow 2mph - and even sounds like a motorcycle engine. The sidecar is made for his favorite stuffed animal. We thought he'd love this - he's a bit obessessed with "moto-bikes" right now. He enjoyed his first ride (in our bedroom)

but not his second, or third - wait, there has been no third ride! He hasn't gone near the thing since Dec 10th (yes, I type this almost 2 months later). Every time was ask him if he wants to ride on his moto-bike he tells us "Its too big". Sydney's having a good time riding it around; no doubt one day he'll decide it's cool.
