Grandma Chris made Sydney's birthday cake - Mickey Mouse. She (Sydney, not Grandma Chris) has been obssessed with the Mickey Mouse March song for several months now, so I thought it was only appropriate that he appear as the main event during her birthday party. The cake looked fantastic, and tasted great too!

Sydney thought it tasted great too. She fully equates "cake" with "birthday". In fact, on Monday, her actual birthday (the BBQ was on Sunday) when we brought her into bed with us and asked her if she wanted to open presents from Mommy and Daddy, she told us "No, I want cake. I like cake." Sorry Sydney, not even a girl as cute as you gets to eat cake for breakfast on her birthday!
Sydney was thoroughly spoilt by all her friends and family with amazing presents. Grandma Chris and Grandpa Eric gave her some adorable clothes, several new books, some colouring supplies and this "great" goat puppet that sings "High on a Hill" when you move it's mouth. She also got a mini cleaning set from Uncle Paul & Aunty Amy, so she can help Mommy with all the chores around the house. Uncle James & Aunty Sarah gave her these neat twistable crayons and a stack of colouring and sticker books.
It was quite the crafty birthday as Grandma Carolyn bought her an easel (she loves the chalkboard part), Aunty Mary and Uncle Brendan gave her packs and packs of craft supplies, and Mommy & Daddy gave her stamps, fingerpaints and other art activities. And then there is the "lovely dress" that Aunty Lori bought her - okay, so it's a skirt, but everything is a dress these days!
