Cousin Brynna Comes to Town

In May Cousin Brynna, Aunty Mary and Uncle Brendan came for a visit. We had a bit of a scare, as Brynna got quite sick whilst in California and there was a very real chance they weren't going to be able to complete the triangle and come to visit us - but after many tearful conversations, praying and some good drugs, Brynna was up for the trip (and so were Mommy & Daddy) and we had an awesome few days.

We indoctrinated Brynna into life in Texas by lending her a water gun and teaching her all about gun safety. She didn't have enough time to complete her CHL, maybe next time; that said, her pockets might not be big enough yet to conceal it, so she may have to wait a few years.

Everyone soon learnt about the heat and humidity that is Houston, so we cooled off each afternoon in our blow-up pool, as well as taking our awesome neighbor up on their open offer to use their pool.
Sydney LOVED having Brynna in the house and giving her lots of cuddles. She'd have her lie down on her old play-arch and entertain her for hours. Ok, maybe minutes.

Mary and I got an afternoon "off" to do some outlet shopping, of course. As we were leaving, this was the scene. The daddy's hosting a tea party for the little ladies. Too cute.

John wanted so badly to try and give Brynna a bottle. As you can see, she was thrilled. I actually think Brendan was more distressed than Brynna (you can't see him in this pic) as he very soon after anxiously picked her up and fed her. John at that point just touched the bottom of the bottle and announced "I'm feeding her".

Three cuties! Whilst Mary & Brendan were here we received the word from Rich's company that we were being brought back to the States early. I got the call from Rich on my way to Pilates one morning, and sat in my car and cried. I think it was a good thing my sis was there, as it helped me to taken an attitude of "Seize the Day". I went home after Pilates, told her she wasn't allowed to spend another day in bed (oh yeah, did I mention my poor sister got horribly sick whilst visiting and spent a day or more in bed just sleeping) and we were making the most of our time together.

So then we went to Lupe's....
