Modeling Their Cooler Weather Clothes

So two weeks ago we actually thought (and believed) we were heading into Fall and cooler weather, so we bought some new jackets. Sydney picked out John's little snowman number and we looked for one in her size, but couldn't find one. He was "Happy as Larry" in his fleece and played outside with the hood up for a good hour or more.

A quick sidenote on the toy in the above picture. One advantage of living in the posh Palisades is that the "junk" people put on their verge for garbage collection is actually "treasure". Sydney's friend, Maya, had the above toy, as did the church creche, so when I saw this sitting on the verge for three days (obviously there aren't as many scavengers here either) I figured that it was ours for the taking. So I quickly shoved it into the back of the car and it was our's! We even made it a two hour project one afternoon of cleaning it up (it was in remarkable condition but very dirty) - water play at it's best. This is by far the most-played-with toy in the backyard.

And here is the future cover girl of Vanity Fair. She LOVED her new jacket (as did I) and she wore it around all day, even in the house. She's such a little ham these days - as soon as you pull out the camera she turns her head, grins like the Cheshire Cat, and then moves on just as quickly. If I'm taking photos of John she'll say "Mom, take my picture".

Aren't you glad I encouraged you to steal that toy? Thanks for finally updating this thing! It's been a long month of clicking on it and seeing the same old stories! See you in 4 days!!
