The Saturday before last Summer finally arrived in Perth and we LOVED it! We had bought a sandbox/swimming pool thing back in April but never used the pool half because it was never warm enough. So we filled it up for Sydney for the first time and had a good play in the sun and water. She loves the pool during swimming lessons, so I was expecting her to get into it straight away, but she was a bit nervous for the first 20 minutes or so, and as you'll see, it took her awhile to get used to the water and "dive" in.

The watering can was a big hit and she had a good time filling it and then 'raining' on herself. Whilst not in the pictures, Teddy the dog got into the action a bit as well, dipping his front paws into the pool on occassion and drinking from the water.

After about 20 minutes she decided to get off the ledge (wasn't quite sure how her little bum was able to manage sitting on the ledge that long) and crouched down into water - still not brave enough to sit down in the water, though!

Oh - that's a bit better! She's finally decided to get wet! From this point on she "paddle paddled" and "kick kicked". We bought a pair of arm floaties that we use at the swimming lessons, but we didn't put them on her for this first pool excursion.

And once we were finished swimming we had a refreshing "popsicle"! I think more ended up down her front and on the pavement than in her tummy, but she loved it!
